Function
The main function of the Cummins fuel filter is to make the fuel supplied to the engine for combustion purer. It is connected in series in the pipeline between the fuel pump and the fuel inlet, which can prevent the fuel system from getting clogged, especially the fuel injectors. At the same time, it can reduce mechanical wear and improve the reliability of the engine.
Structure and Type
The fuel filter of a Cummins diesel engine is usually of the rotary type and in a two-stage series configuration. The first stage is an oil-water separator with a water discharge valve, and the second stage is the fuel filter. The oil-water separator consists of a housing, a liquid level sensor, a float, a diaphragm-type manual pump, etc. It can separate and deposit the condensed water in the fuel at the lower part of the housing.
Product Advantages
High filtration accuracy: It can remove free water and solid particles as small as 0.003 inches, effectively protecting the engine from damage caused by harmful impurities.
Sturdy structure: Utilizing PTFE-coated stainless steel filters and conductive plastic materials, it has corrosion resistance.
Self-cleaning function: It has self-cleaning capabilities, eliminating the need for replacement parts, making it convenient to use and with low maintenance costs.
Scope of Application
The Cummins fuel filter is used in conjunction with Cummins engines and is suitable for Cummins marine engines (main propulsion engines, marine auxiliary machinery) for inland river / ocean vessels, including cargo ships, fishing boats, workboats, yachts, etc. It can withstand seawater corrosion and ship body swaying during navigation, and also adapt to the maritime working conditions where diesel in the marine fuel tank is prone to condensation and water accumulation. It is a key protective component of the fuel system for marine Cummins engines.
