Wiper Motor
The marine windshield wiper motor is the core power component of the marine windshield wiper system. It is specially designed for the marine environment and features outstanding characteristics such as high corrosion resistance, large torque output, and high protection level.
Operating Principle
The marine windshield wiper motor adopts an integrated design of permanent magnet DC motor and worm gear reduction mechanism. After the motor is powered on, it uses the worm gear mechanism to reduce the high-speed rotation (usually 2000-3000 rpm) to 30-60 rpm, while the torque increases by more than 50 times. Then, it is driven by the output shaft to drive the connecting rod mechanism, converting the rotational motion into the reciprocating swing of the wiper arm. The motor usually integrates an automatic reset device inside to ensure that the wiper blade stops at the designated position and does not obstruct the view when the machine is stopped.
Design Point
Worm gear: Made of copper alloy or high-strength engineering plastic, with long wear resistance and lifespan.
Bearing: Stainless steel bearing or ceramic bearing, corrosion-resistant.
Output shaft: 16mm/20mm stainless steel spline shaft with anti loosening design.
Anti vibration: Strengthen the fixed bracket to withstand continuous vibration of the ship.
Shell material: 316L stainless steel, corrosion-resistant aluminum alloy, copper nickel alloy.
Surface treatment: galvanized nickel, epoxy coating, Dacromet treatment.
Solenoid for Wiper
The solenoid valve in the marine wiper system is mainly used for controlling the water spray/jet cleaning system and is an auxiliary control component that is matched with the wiper.
Main Functions
Water spray system control: When the water spray function is activated, the solenoid valve is powered on and opened, and the cleaning solution (fresh water or special glass water) is sprayed onto the glass surface through the nozzle, which is then wiped with a wiper.
Jet system control: Some models use compressed air blowing function, and solenoid valves control the opening and closing of the air path to remove dust or accumulated water on the glass surface.
Timing control: Coordinate water spray/jet and wiper action with the controller (such as spraying water first and then wiping, or intermittent spraying).
Environmental Requirements
Salt spray corrosion resistance: Valve bodies, coil housings, etc. need to pass salt spray testing (usually for more than 500 hours).
Anti vibration design: The internal structure needs to be anti loosening and able to withstand continuous vibration of the ship.
Temperature working range: -40 ℃~+80 ℃, adaptable to changes in sea temperature differences.
Waterproof sealing: The coil part is sealed with epoxy resin or IP67 sealing structure.
Wiper solenoid are usually installed near the nozzle and controlled by the wiper controller. When the water spray button is pressed, the controller simultaneously supplies power to the water pump and solenoid valve, achieving synchronous water spraying.
Wiper Controller
The marine wiper controller is the core control unit of the wiper system, responsible for motor speed regulation, intermittent control, automatic reset, water spray/heating control and other functions. It is designed specifically for marine environments on ships and has high protection levels, corrosion resistance, vibration resistance and other characteristics.
