MRC Water-Tight Speaker for Ship Deck Public Address System

No.BHS-10 B1
Marine explosion-proof public address speaker is an acoustic device that integrates broadcasting, amplification, and alarm functions. It is mainly used in hazardous areas such as ship decks, engine rooms, drilling platforms, and ports where flammable and explosive gases or dust exist, to meet the needs of fire broadcasting, emergency command, and daily communication.

Description

Working Principle

1. Basic Sound Production Principle (Electromagnetic Sound Energy Conversion)

Signal input: The audio electrical signal output by the amplifier is transmitted to the voice coil inside the speaker.

Electromagnetic drive: The voice coil is placed in the magnetic field of a permanent magnet. The changing current causes the voice coil to generate a changing magnetic field, which interacts with the permanent magnet and drives the voice coil to vibrate back and forth.

Vibration and Sound Production: The voice coil drives the diaphragm (paper basin) connected to it to vibrate together, thereby pushing the surrounding air to produce sound waves and produce sound.

2. Explosion Proof and Protection Principles

Flameproof Enclosure

• Design: The shell is made of extremely sturdy metals such as stainless steel and aluminum alloy, and all joint surfaces (such as between the cover and the shell) are machined into "explosion-proof surfaces" with specific gaps and widths.

Principle: Even if electrical sparks or flammable gases enter the shell due to internal circuit faults, the explosion flame will be completely suppressed by the thick explosion-proof shell. When the flame passes through the gap of the explosion-proof surface, its energy and temperature have been significantly reduced by the gap, making it impossible to ignite the hazardous environment outside the shell. This is the core of its explosion-proof function.

Sealing and Protection

• Cable entry device: Use professional explosion-proof gland or stuffing box, combined with rubber sealing ring, to ensure the sealing of the cable entrance and prevent gas and moisture from infiltrating along the cable.

High pressure horn and dust screen: The front horn is usually tightly sealed with the shell, and there is a metal dust screen at the opening, which can effectively guide the sound and prevent foreign objects from entering.

• High protection level (IP66): Through multiple seals, it achieves "dust tightness" and "strong water spray resistance", resisting salt spray, moisture, and flushing on ships.

Material and Circuit Safety

Corrosion resistant materials: The shell and fasteners are made of stainless steel or have undergone special surface treatment to resist marine salt spray corrosion.

Safety parameter control: The internal circuit design controls energy and temperature to ensure that even in the event of a fault, the surface temperature does not exceed the ignition temperature of the combustible material.

Core Function

1. Core Security and Emergency Functions

Emergency broadcast and alarm: In case of fire, collision, water ingress, abandonment of ship and other emergency situations, play the general emergency alarm signal (seven short and one long) and public broadcast notification to command personnel evacuation and assembly.

Fire command: Used for on-site command and communication during fire drills or actual firefighting to ensure clear communication of instructions.

General alarm: Integrated into the ship's general alarm system, issuing safety alerts for the entire ship.

2. Daily Communication Function

Ship wide broadcasting: Used by the captain or bridge to issue daily notices, instructions, meetings, etc.

Regional communication: Local broadcasting or intercom in specific areas such as engine rooms, decks, and residential areas.

Scheduling: Coordinate and direct operations during loading and unloading, berthing, and other operations.

3. Environmental Adaptation and Reliability Functions

Intrinsic safety explosion-proof: Its explosion-proof design ensures that internal electric sparks will not ignite external combustible gases (such as oil and gas), which is a prerequisite for safe use in hazardous areas.

Endurance to harsh environments: The high protection level (IP66) ensures its normal operation in salt spray, humidity, and rainwater washing environments, and the material is corrosion-resistant.

High noise environment amplification: The high sound pressure level design ensures that in areas with high background noise such as the engine room and deck, the voice is still clear and recognizable.

4. System Integration and Auxiliary Functions

System compatibility: Can be connected to the ship's public broadcasting and general alarm system, and accept central control.

Partition control: Supports coordination with the system to achieve partitioning, grouping, or ship wide broadcasting of different areas.

Signal compatibility: Compatible with different broadcast amplifier devices.
