Sizing: Double Acting Actuator
The suggested safety factor for double acting actuators under normal working conditions is 20%-30%.
Example: 
The torque needed by valve=100N.m
The torque considered safety factor (1+30%)=130N.m
Air Supply=5Bar
According to the above table, we can choose the minimum model is ART160DA.Torque is165.3Nm .


Pneumatic Actuator Structure
1、Indicator
Position indicator with NAMUR is convenient for mounting    accessories such as Limit Switch box,Positioner and so on.
2、Pinion
Nickel-plated alloy steel, high precision integrated output shaft in line with NAMUR, ISO5211, DIN3337 standards.
3、Actuator Body
The ASTM6005 die-cast aluminum alloy cylinder can be sprayed with hard oxidation, epoxy resin (blue, orange, yellow, etc., as required), PTFE coating or nickel plating to meet different requirements.
4、End caps
Die cast aluminum alloy surface metal powder sprayed with various colors, PTFE coating or nickel plating treatment.
5、Pistons
Double piston rack, using cast aluminum hard oxidation or cast steel galvanized treatment, symmetrical installation position, rapid operation, long service life, simple reverse piston can change the direction of rotation.
6、Travel adjustment
Two independent stroke adjusting screws allow for convenient and accurate ±5° adjustment of the open and close positions.
7、High performance springs
Using high-quality materials, coating treatment, prepressure assembly. It has strong corrosion resistance and service life. Single acting actuators can be safely and simply disassembled to meet different torque output ranges by varying the number of springs.
8、Bearings & Guides
The use of low-friction, long-life composite materials to avoid direct contact between metal and metal, maintenance and replacement is simple and convenient.
9、O-rings
Nitrile rubber is used under normal operating conditions, and fluorine rubber or silicone rubber is used at high or low temperatures.

Working Principle
The working principle of the pneumatic actuator mainly involves the compressed air driving the piston movement ‌ and then opening or closing the valve through the gear or rack mechanism. ‌
When compressed air enters the pneumatic actuator, ‌ gas pushes the double pistons in a straight line to both ends. ‌ This movement is through the rack on the piston to drive the gear on the rotating shaft to rotate, ‌ to achieve the opening of the valve. ‌ In particular, the ‌ valve is opened when the rack on the ‌ piston turns the gear on the rotating shaft 90° counterclockwise. ‌ On the contrary, ‌ when the gas at both ends of the pneumatic actuator pushes the double piston to the middle in a straight line movement with the B tube nozzle, the rack on the ‌ piston drives the rack on the rotating shaft to rotate 90 degrees clockwise, ‌ the valve is closed. ‌ At this time, the gas in the middle of the ‌ pneumatic actuator is discharged with the A nozzle. ‌ This transmission principle is the working mode of the standard pneumatic actuator.
