Stainless steel oil-filled thermometer for Marine diesel engine, also known as oil-filled shock thermometer or shock oil-filled bimetal thermometer, is a temperature sensor designed for Marine environment, with high temperature resistance, shock resistance, corrosion resistance, etc., to meet the needs of Marine diesel engine temperature measurement under complex conditions.

Construction
Shell: stainless steel material, with good corrosion resistance and mechanical strength.
Temperature sensing element: usually composed of temperature sensitive elements such as bimetallic sheet or thermistor, filled with silicone oil or other high temperature resistance, good stability liquid, play the role of shock absorption and heat conduction.
Capillary: The temperature sensing element is connected to the dial to transmit the volume change caused by the temperature change.
Dial and indication: The temperature value is displayed through the pointer or digital display, and the dial is generally made of stainless steel and marked with a scale for easy reading.

Working principle 
The working principle of the stainless steel oil-filled thermometer is based on the principle of thermal expansion. When the temperature sensing element comes into contact with the high-temperature gas or coolant emitted by the diesel engine, its temperature changes, causing the liquid filled inside (such as silicone oil) to expand or contract. This volume change is transmitted through the capillary tube to the dial, which drives the pointer to rotate or changes the value on the digital display to indicate the current temperature.

Measuring range
The measuring range of stainless steel oil-filled thermometers for Marine diesel engines is usually set according to the operating temperature and measurement requirements of the diesel engine. In general, the measurement range can cover the entire temperature range of the diesel engine from the start of the cold engine to the full load operation, common measurement ranges include 0°C to +600°C or higher.
